Pick a topic, your level, and whether you want lessons, quizzes or a mix, then tick the days you want. You get at most one short lesson or quiz a day, at 8am in your own timezone, in curriculum order, with a link to read it on SkillRecall. Each email takes a few minutes. It is free, no account is needed to start, and you can change your days, pause it or stop it whenever you like.
The Planner now starts from the role you’re preparing for. Pick your role, your stack, and your level, and it shows you exactly what it has organized before you dive in — the knowledge areas, the interview questions, and the topics worth refreshing, all drawn from real published lessons and never invented. Then choose how to start: Recall to review the key concepts and Q&A first, or Test to jump straight to the questions and see what you already know — two ways into the same plan. It’s free to explore with no account needed; an account saves your progress and lets you revisit the areas you missed.
Some lessons now come with a video you can watch without leaving the page — a code walkthrough that types the example out line by line, or a longer deep dive that builds it, traces it running, and covers the mistakes that are easy to make. They sit at the bottom of the lesson, and nothing loads until you press play. We are adding these to the lessons that benefit most from seeing the code written rather than read, so expect more of them over the coming weeks.
You can now sign in with your Google account — one click, no code to wait for. The email passcode still works exactly as before if you prefer it, and both routes reach the same account: if you already signed in with a passcode, using Google with that same address takes you to the account you already have. We only ever ask Google for your name, email address, and profile picture — nothing else, and nothing on your behalf.
Creating a SkillRecall account is now open to everyone and free. There’s no waiting list and no invite to wait for: enter your email, paste the one-time passcode we send, and you’re in — no password to pick. An account unlocks playlists, watchlists, favourites, audio and video lessons, progress tracking, and the Planner. Browsing the library stays free with no account at all.
The Planner now asks your experience level — Junior, Mid-level, Senior, or Principal+ — and tailors your whole learning path to match: foundations first when you’re starting out, deeper trade-offs and harder recall as you level up. Picking a goal and a topic is smoother too, with your level shown right alongside them as you build. Coming soon: build a plan straight from a job description — paste one in and get interview prep mapped to the exact skills the role asks for.
